San Lorenzo in Gosforth has been my favourite Italian restaurant forever (even the first time round). It’s always my go to place when I want a guaranteed perfect pizza, a Prosecco fueled ladies night, or a good place to catch up with friends. Yes I’m a regular, but I have never had a Sunday lunch there until now!
I wanted to take my Mam out for Mother’s Day. After looking at a few places that had special Mothers Day lunches advertised with inflated prices, I decided to stick with what I know and book San Lorenzo. I was a bit hesitant going with Sunday lunch because I just love the Italian menu but we saw other people’s and the Yorkshire puddings sold it.
We were a table of 4, 2 of us had chicken and 2 had lamb off the special board. They didn’t let me down, the meals were up to the usual high standards and we all enjoyed every last bite. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly and that carrot mash is so creamy and tasty. We were so eager to tuck in when it arrived I forgot to take a picture straight away. Even when I got the camera out I couldn’t make anyone put their knives and forks down for me to take a photo so here they are enjoying their meals…
We finished with sticky toffee pudding which was perfect!
It’s not just the food that makes San Lorenzo my favourite restaurant, the bustling atmosphere and friendly staff make it a relaxed and enjoyable environment. A big shout out to Dori and Olly who always make us feel so welcome, see you again soon! 🙂
